Something Blue daniel and kantana layout

Written by Stef on . Posted in Scrapbook Layouts

A 12x12 layout using Kaisercraft Something Blue and Bow and Arrow Paper collections, Tim holtz carnivale die, and Memory box Heart Border

Hi Everyone

Today  I would like to share a layout I created using Kaisercraft Something Blue paper collection.

The base layer is the striped reverse side of Honeymoon sheet. I have used a Martha Stewart Round the page punch to punch a sheet of Kaisercraft Bow and Arrow Heart paper for the next layer. The photo has been layered using paper and embellishments from the Something Blue paper pad and collectables pack.

Other embellishments are a heart button die cut sizzix sew cute button border die and tied with white twine, a 55mm ornamental doyley from Couture Creations Cameo set  and a heart border from Memory box.

The title has been created from letters die cut from  Tim Holtz Carnivale border die.

Journal cards have been tucked under embellishments and photo layers.

Scrapbook Layout using Simple Stories Daily Grind

Hi everyone,

I thought I share the layout I created for a class I taught when I was in Albany.  This page uses the Daily Grind line from Simple Stories which I love and it great for everyday stuff and would be good for cards too.

Rosette Wedding Layout

Black and white wedding scrapbook page heritage

Why I Think it is important to preserve Memories.

This week would have been my Mum's Birthday so I have spent some time reminising about her.

This is a layout of Mum and Dads Wedding that I created just after Mum passed away.  Before she died the Mother I had know most of my life had long gone as her demenia progressed but it was probably not until just after her death that I realised how much about her life especially her early years that I did not know or could not remember. With the help of her sister I have managed to fill in some of the gaps and I try note any recollections I have before I forget them.

I think it is a wonderful legacy to create a scrapbook or any record of your own or family life to tell a story where you can share memories of treasured moments and everyday life with friends and family. I regret that I did not start this process much earlier in my life and I look at the most wonderful pages Kristy creates about her children and family how lucky they are that she will give them the story of their lives.

I would urge everyone to make notes about the special people around them or better still ask them to make notes about themselves even if you are not intending to use them in the near future. If sadly you are in a situation where you know time is short to collect information I often suggest you use a tag to record individual recollections in your own writing or better still in theirs.

Give some thought to those people close to you and what you would like to do to preserve their special unique history.

This layout was created by using Tim Holtz Rosettes and Elegant Flourishes dies, a Martha Stewart round the page punch and scoreboard and Kaisercraft After Five paper collection.

Elle's Studio - Fun in the Sun Layout

Elle's Studio Layout

Hi everyone,

There are not too many photos with me in them but my husband took this photo of my son and I at the beach on holidays.  Elle's Studio is becoming one of my favourite manufacturers of paper and I really like their stamps too.  I took inspiration from the papers to create my layout, creating a layered look similar to what was already printed on the paper.

Quick Scrapbook Layout

Written by Kristy on . Posted in Scrapbook Layouts

Hi Everyone,

Sometimes I really like to spend time being creative and sometimes I dont want to think about things too much.  Today's layout is another example of a quick layout that was created by selecting a paper that had already a lot of the design of the layout already done.  I just printed the photos to the right size and added further stickers and embellishments to the layout.  The paper even has the perfect place for journalling ready to record the details.  The papers and stickers are from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss Collection.  I will be be back later in the week with some sneak peaks for the weekend workshop coming soon.  I promise I spend A LOT more time on those layouts :)

Thanks for stopping by,

Kristy

Prima Lifetime Layout

Prima Lifetime Layout

Hi Everybody,

Today we are sharing a scrapbook page that I created in our April weekend workshop.  Our September Weekend Workshop is coming up on the weekend of 21st and 22nd September.  We try to ensure that the projects cover a range of styles, different products and manufacturers so that there is something for everyone.  This was the vintage style layout.

The layout uses a selection of the Prima Lifetime collection of papers and embellishments and also several Kaisercraft and Basic grey products.  Just one of the techniques taught in this layout was using texture paste and curtin fabric to create a lovely delicate texture on the page.  We also showed people how to make their own texture paste and how to colour texture paste as part of the class.

Our upcoming weekend workshop on the 21st and 22nd of September will have scrapbooking layouts, off the page and make and take projects. Sneak peaks coming soon!  We have had lots of fun with the ladies who have come and hope you will be able to join us too.  You will need register your interest as places will be limited.
