Hi Everyone, Welcome to Stef's papercrafts blog.

We hope to share lots of projects, new products, ideas and inspiration with you.

5 Days in December - Day 4

Written by Stef on . Posted in Christmas/Seasonal

Hello Everyone,

Today we are showing you some handmade Christmas Ornaments using Kaisercraft Wooden Shapes and also Dusty Attic Chipboard.  The ornaments were made in different ways, by using the Emboss It Dabber and then using assorted embossing powders and then heating it, and also by painting with glimmer glam.  Embossing powders are really starting to regain popularity.  You could easily spray these with different mists or spray inks as well or just apply ink directly from your ink pads to the ornaments without doing any embossing.

We haven't done this with these ornaments but you could easily put some patterned paper on the back on the back of the circular ornaments and also cut a photo to be circular and stick it onto the patterned paper. (TIP: If you haven't got a circle cutter or circle dies you can just glue your paper to the ornament and use your craft knife to cut around the edges.) This would be a great way to personalise your ornaments and would make a great little gift for doting grandparents :)

We will add another couple of photos of ornaments over on our facebook page.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sizzix Christmas Tree decorated with Alcohol Inks

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Day 3.  Today we are showing you the Sizzix Emboss and Die Cut - Christmas Tree #2.  If you haven't made your Christmas cards yet this would be great to make a bunch of cards in a hurry.  You could keep things clean and simple or more detailed depending on your style.

For this card I have used Foil Sheets by Tim Holtz and stuck it to some white card then cut and embossed it.  Then I have applied alcohol inks and then when the alcohol inks had dried I applied black archival ink over the top.

The doily was cut out of bazzill card using the Couture Creations Tranquil Lace Doily Die and then inked with Pine Needles Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from the Holiday Says Clear Stamp Set by Hero Arts.  I gave the card a bit more definition by drawing a border with a white gel pen.  This is a great tip for adding a little something extra to your cards that is simple to do.

We have got some other examples of using the foil sheets and also a relatively new product Mirror Sheets (this is exactly like a mirror but card stock - very cool!) So check out the facebook page later in the day.

If you want to see the picture in a larger size just click on it.

Thanks for stopping and be sure to come back tommorrow for another Christmas idea.

5 Days in December - Day 2

Written by Kristy on . Posted in Christmas/Seasonal

Hi everyone,

Today I am showing you a tag that has been decorated and hung on the Christmas Tree, but if you turn it around you can see the pocket for a little gift card ( I have just slipped a paper business card I have so that you can see the size and how the gift car would fit).  There is space on the bottom of the pocket to write your Chirstmas message.

We occasionally give gift cards but I always worry about them getting lost under the Christmas Tree or even thrown out with the wrapping paper after the pressies have been opened, so this is a great way to keep your gift card safe and also make it a bit more personal by making the tag.  Another bonus is that it looks pretty on the tree.

This tag was made using tea dye, crushed olive and peeled paint distress inks, some Websters ribbon, some twine and a couple of pieces from the collectables pack of the Kaisercraft collections Merry and Bright and Just Believe.  This tag came together pretty quickly so you could easily make a bunch of these if you give a few gift cards.

I'll put up another example over on the facebook page later in the day.  Just click on the button at the top of the blog to go to the Stefs Papercrafts Facebook Page.

Thanks for stopping by.  I'll be back tommorrow with a project using alcohol inks, foil tape and mirror board.

5 Days in December - Day 1

Written by Kristy on . Posted in Christmas/Seasonal

Hi everyone,

Welcome to our 5 days of Christmas ideas.  Today we are showing you some personalised gift bags.  I have kept the designs really simple as in December time can get a bit short!  You could definitely add more detail to these projects if you chose.

For the first bag I have used a both Cocoa glimmermist and Dylusions Spray Ink - Pillar Box Red to colour the big.  This bag has a lovely shimmer but also a slightly vintage look.  I have used some stickers from Kaisercrafts Twig and Berry collection and one a the tags from the same collection.  All of the Kaisercraft Christmas Collections include a 12x12 piece of paper that is made up of assorted sizes of tags.  The paper is perforated and is a good thickness so it is easy to tear the tags apart.

For the second bag I have used some brighter colours.  This bag was sprayed with Dylusions Spray Inks - Cut Grass and Key Lime over the 5x8 Dylusions Starry Starry Night Stencil.  When it had dried I used stickers and a tag from the Mint Twist Collection.

Later in the day, over on the facebook page I will show a bag decorated with slightly less traditional colours.

Happy To Be Fishing Layout

Little Yellow Bicycle Layout - Happy to be Fishing

Hi everyone,

Today I am showing you a layout about my son and going fishing when we are on holidays.  I used some Little Yellow Bicycle patterned papers, some of the acetate embellishments and paper embellishments that go with the patterned papers.  All the pieces together meant that the layout has a bright fun look which is alway good for scrapbooking about little boys.  I also used some hair netting as I thought this looked a bit like fishing net and even though we don't ever fish with nets it still suited my theme.  I wrote my journalling on strips of white card.  I find this is great way of adding some quick journalling to my layouts, but without the risk of writing directly on my layout in case I make a mistake.  I do write directly on my layouts but tend to write my journalling on a scrap piece of paper first and then onto the layout.

Thanks for stopping by,

Kristy

Supplies List: Little Yellow Bicycle Patterned Papers from the Splash Collection - Kumquat Geo and Sea Swirls, Papercrafting Kit - Splash Collection. Butterfly Kisses Advent Calendar

Butterfly Kisses Advent Calendar

Hi everyone,

We won't normally post twice in one day but we wanted to show a completely different advent calendar.  This very pink and pretty Kaisercraft Advent Calendar is a smaller verison of the one we posted earlier in the day.  This one has been made using Kaisercrafts Butterfly Kisses Collection, Kaisercraft Wooden Butterfly and paints from Kaisercraft too.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back on Wednesday when Kristy has a Little Yellow Bicycle Layout about one of her boys going fishing to share.

Stef.
