Kaisercraft Wooden Advent Calendar

Hello everyone,

As time is flying by and December is not too far way, today on the blog we are sharing a picture of a Kaisercraft Wooden Advent Calendar that has been decorated using mostly Kaisercraft's Turtledove Collection and Twig and Berry Collection.  Some other wooden embellishments and the strips of gold gems were also added.

Kristy will be back later in the  week with a scrapbook page using some bright and fun Little Yellow Bicycle papers and embellishments. If you want to see a Twiddleybitz Advent Calendar, you can check out Kristy's blog post here

Masculine Birthday Card

Written by Kristy on . Posted in Cards

Hi Everyone,

Today I have a masculine birthday card to show you.  The card was made by stamping the Newsprint Cupcake stamp (Hero Arts) in verasmark ink onto sticky back canvas and then embossing with clear embossing powder.  I then applied one of the new distress stains - Salty Ocean over the top and let it dry.  I also stamped my card base with the Envelope pattern background stamp (Hero Arts).  The little flag is by Maya Road and I added a sticker from the Spotted Owl Soup Collection (Jillbean Soup) on top.  I added another sticker from the same collection to the cupcake and also to tuck at the top of the card.  Some stitching, a twine bow, a button and my favourite embellishment for masculine cards and layouts - the Mini Paperclips by Tim Holtz finished off the card.

If you would like to see a totally different project using the new distress stains you can check out this tag on my blog.

I will be back later in the week with some off the page projects and a scrapbook layout featuring my middle boy.  Thanks for stopping by,

Kristy

New Distress Stains

Written by Kristy on . Posted in Blog

Hi everyone,

We are really excited to have the brand NEW Distress Stains in store.  Recently Ranger add the previously seasonal (limited edition) Distress inks to their normal range so you can now get them anytime.  Well these same bright and fun colours have now also been released as Distress Stains. There are also 3 metallic distress stains that are great for giving a faux metal look to chipboard.  Distress stains are quick and easy to use.

For those of you who may not have ever heard of Distress anything, you can check out the Ranger Website here and Tim Holtz's website if you are interested in finding out about these great products.  Tim Holtz has done a couple of great videos explaining about distress stains and demonstrating how you would use them.  At the moment we are having a few issues uploading videos from youtube so we will just give you the links.

Kaisercraft Christmas Reindeers

Written by Stef on . Posted in Christmas/Seasonal

Hi everyone,

Today I thought I would show you a fun home decor item for Christmas.  There are lots of fabulous off the page wooden items that can be decorated, including a wishing well, advent calendars, tealight candle holder and the list goes on.  These Kaisercraft reindeers and sleighs are just perfect as a centrepiece on the table on Christmas Day or just displayed somewhere around your home this December.  The sleigh can be filled with lollies or yummy chocolate or whatever you would like.  I have decorated these reindeers using different papers, one that is a specific Christmas paper and the other is the Bo Bunny Enchanted Collection.  So you can match your papers to your own home or theme.  We are running a couple of classes where you can come and make your project in store.  Contact us on 98422222 if you are interested in more details.

Thanks for stopping by,

Stef

Tea Thyme 'Daughter' Card

Written by Kristy on . Posted in Cards

Hi Everyone,

Today's card features some of the gorgeous papers from the new Prima Collection Tea Thyme.  Stef made this card using patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad, Hero Arts stamp, lace, paper flowers and some Dusty Attic fabric leaves.  The ends of the flowers were curled by wrapping the wire around a thin paint brush handle.  We will continue to add a variety of projects to the blog over the coming weeks and are planning some special Christmas posts.

Thanks for stopping by.

Copic Marker Colouring Video 1 - Faces

Written by Kristy on . Posted in Blog

Hi Everyone,

I made this video to show you how I like to use my copic markers to colour in faces.  I chose one of the new stamps from La La Land Crafts - Christmas Elf Marci.  There are different ways to colour and different colour combinations you can choose so some of it is a matter of personal preference.  I think you just have practise and figure out what works for you.
