Here is another card with touches of gold. The card background was again created by swiping Tarnished Brass distress paint across the cardstock. You can use this technique with other types of paint dabbers also and it gives a bit of a faux woodgrain effect. For this background I left more of the kraft card showing.
I then used some of the leftover hearts from the previous card and coloured them by squeeing a bit of the distress paint onto the craft sheet. I then spritz some water and mixed up different amounts of paint and water to create different shades of gold to paint the hearts. You can use this technique to colour die cut shapes cut out of a variety of papers, as well as chipboard or wood veneer shapes.
The patterned paper and collectable are also from the A Touch of Gold collection. You can add touches of gold to your project using gold washi tape, sequins and coloured pearls as shown on this card.
The last techique I used on this card was to flick a little more of the water and distress paint mix onto the assembled card to add extra detail and interest, plus bring it all together.
I'll be back with the background technique I used to make sure that I didn't waste any of the excess paint and water mix.
See you soon and thanks for stopping by.
