Vintage Style 75 Cents Card

Written by Stef on . Posted in Cards

Handmade Card using 75 Cents Collection

Hi everyone,

I needed to make a couple of birthday cards last week and here is one of my cards.  I used the patterned papers from the Kaisercraft 75 cents collection, some Kaisercraft blooms (Sage) and a resin flower, some embroidery ribbon, a Kaisercraft Dressform, Kaisercraft flourish (Ice) and some bazzill card.  I distressed the edges and added some pumice stone ink.  This collection is really great for vintage style projects and has that lovely touch of green.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been getting some of the new stock I ordered following CHA in February.  There is still lots more to come!  If you want to know more about what is new in store you can check out the facebook page.  I am not planning to post everything that is new, as I don't want to overwhelm people though.

I hope you had a relaxing long weekend,

Stef

Saxaphone Luka and 75 Cents

Card made using Copic markers and Saxaphone Luka

Hi everyone,

Today's card is using Saxaphone Luka, La La Land Crafts Music Notes die, a new Kaisercraft Texture Stamp and some papers from Kaisercrafts 75 Cents paper pad.  After I stamped Luka I coloured him in with my copic markers and cut him out.  Tip: I didn't cut the tiny area between the saxaphone and his arm but instead coloured it with a marker to match the colour of the background.  This will work when you have the right colour of copic marker and the area is only small.  I also coloured and cut the small hearts out too.

Card Made using Distress Paints, Dylusions Spray Inks and Prima Mixed Media Doll Stamp

Hi everyone,

I was very excited today to be able to try out the new colours of Dylusions Spray Inks and Distress Paints as well as a beautiful new paper doll stamp from Prima.  So far I am loving the new colours of Dylusions, especially the white linen and I am looking forward to spending some more time using them.  It will come as no suprise that I also really like the new distress paints too and also look forward to using them more too.

So for todays card I picked out some colours I knew I would like and went to work making this card.

Tim Holtz Distress Marker Video

Hi everyone,

Just thought we would share this great video by Tim Holtz sharing some tips for using distress markers.  Whilst we love our copic markers the distress markers are really great markers too - they just do different things.  We expect the new Dylusions Ink Sprays and new distress paints to be in store very soon too!

A Couple of Copic Marker Ideas

Kaisercraft butterfly coloured with copic markers

Hi everyone,

Last time I was in Albany I demonstrated using copic markers and colouring directly on the rubber and then spritzing with isopropyl alcohol to reactivite the ink but I have since discovered that you can just use the colourless blender in a mister bottle instead.  At the time I thought this would be ok but wasn't entirely sure whether this would safe so didn't feel I could recommend it, however there is a great blog post over on the Copic Oz blog sharing about this technique as well as a couple of other ideas.  This gives even more opportunity to use your markers other than just stamping and colouring in.
