I made this video to show you how I like to use my copic markers to colour in faces.  I chose one of the new stamps from La La Land Crafts - Christmas Elf Marci.  There are different ways to colour and different colour combinations you can choose so some of it is a matter of personal preference.  I think you just have practise and figure out what works for you.

Hi everyone,

It is coming up to Christmas so quickly!  I can't believe it is not that long til December.  This year I want to record a bit more of our holiday traditions and what December is like in my little family (My husband and I have 3 children).  To get myself a bit more organised this year I have already made up a basic mini album using a Little Yellow Bicycle Album kit and a MME All is Bright 6x6 paper pad.  I showed this briefly in the video I made about some of the new products in store in the post What's new in November.  I have kept all the pieces of the pad I didn't use and plan to use some of the bits and pieces for embellishing the album.  

The cover of the album was made using a Prima Stencil and I painted over the stencil with white gesso.  I left this to dry and the sprayed the cover with glimmermist.  To create the inside pages, I sprayed glimmermist onto my kraft mat and used the mist like a paint.  I only painted the surfaces that wouldn't end up covered by the patterned paper.  If you have any questions, or want to know any more details about this project please leave a comment and then check back for the reply.

It’s Kristy here for my first post on Stef’s new blog.  For anyone who knows me a little they know that copic markers are one of my favourite things, along with photography and chocolate! So it is fitting that my first post would be to give a bit of information about getting started with copic markers.
Here is a card to give you an idea of the effect you can get when colouring with copic markers.

Firstly you need the right type of ink.  As Copic markers are alcohol based they can interact with some of the inks of some stamp pads eg stazon ink, so the best ink for stamping when you want to colour with copics is Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  You can get Memento inks in different colours also.  I sometimes stamp in a brown ink, depending on what kind of look I am wanting to create...

There are lots of new products at Southern Stationery and so we thought we would share a few.  It is the beginning of the month so we have the 2 new Kaisercraft ranges (Pickled Pear and Merry & Bright) as well as the new collection that is basically like a Calendar kit.  The new Emboss-It Dabbers from Ranger have come in and Kristy plans to do a video demonstrating how to use this great new product soon.  We have re-stocked the Memory Box Dies and Copic Markers.  

If you haven’t heard, the Seasonal Ranges of the Distress Inks by Tim Holtz have now become a permanent part of the Distress Ink line.  So if you love Distress Inks and like some brighter colours then these will definitely interest you.  We could keep going on as we get new stock all the time but we will stop there.
